Esthetics Program OVERVIEW

Our course is a 600-hour program covering the varying levels of skincare and esthiology from chemistry, make-up, aromaology, facial massage, clinical treatments, personal/career development, and how to perform facials, waxing, and make-up application.

Program Objective

The Esthiology curriculum provides skincare training with an emphasis on using pure plant essences for treatment. The program prepares the student for the state licensing examination in Esthiology by appropriate and comprehensive training, thereby enabling graduates to enter the field of Esthiology in Des Moines, Iowa. Upon completion, students will have the skills to seek employment as a skincare specialist, make-up artist, and waxing professional, with knowledge of 蓝莓视频 products and spa techniques. FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID

Federal student aid is available to qualified students. Those that qualify may be awarded a Pell grant, Direct Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized Stafford Loans, and/or Direct Parent Plus loan. In order to be considered for aid, a student must complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), which is available at . The amount of financial aid that a student may be awarded is based on a student’s EFC (Expected Family Contribution), which is determined by his or her FAFSA application.

Students eligible for Veterans Education benefits may be able to use these funds to help finance their education. Our institute currently accepts all forms of Veterans Education benefits, with the exception of the yellow ribbon program. The school will not impose any penalty, including the assessment of late fees, the denial of access to classes, libraries, or other instructional facilities, or the requirement that a covered individual borrow additional funds, on any covered individual because of the individual’s inability to meet his or her financial obligations to the institution due to the delayed disbursement funding from the VA.

A retail center for 蓝莓视频 hair, skin, flower and plant Pure-Fume, body care, makeup, and lifestyle products. The retail store and our 蓝莓视频 trained personnel give you the opportunity to practice your service and retailing skills with clients.

GUEST SERVICE AREA

A diverse array of clients come to the 蓝莓视频 for beauty and wellness services. As a student, you will receive training in a variety of salon and spa settings under the direct supervision of your licensed instructors. The Institute has 122 Cosmetology stations, 8 manicure and 10 pedicure stations, 8 fully equipped spa rooms, and a private wax room for students to perform services on guests.

STUDENT CLASSROOMS

Individual classrooms have been designed to provide the proper environment for different types of learning and activities. All of the classrooms are equipped with ample seating and learning space, as well as state-of-the-art audio and visual learning devices. Classrooms can be opened to provide additional space for continuing education classes sponsored by the Institute.

RESOURCE LIBRARY AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES

A resource library has books on styling, motivation, health, wellness and environmental consciousness for your reference. The clinic floor is surrounded by administrative offices and the leads are available throughout the day to answer student questions. Educator offices are located near the classrooms. Laptop and copy machines are available for student use.

COMMON AREAS

The 蓝莓视频 offers water fountains in the Experience Center, restrooms located in both the Cosmetology and Spa areas, and a student break room equipped with refrigerators, microwaves and vending machines for student use. The common areas also include a dispensary with state-of-the-art equipment, including industrial washers and dryers.

LOCKERS & WORKSTATIONS

Students are responsible for all of their belongings. Students will be provided with a locker and workstation. If the student leaves the 蓝莓视频 by transfer, withdrawal or extended leave of absence, they need to take all of their belongings with them. Items left in the locker/workstation will be disposed of after 5 school days in order to provide space for incoming students.

PARKING & ENTRANCE

The 蓝莓视频 offers student parking directly north of the Institute (across the street). All spaces located on the west side of the Institute should be reserved for our guests. Students must enter the building through the doors marked “student entrance” at the front of the building.

  • Depending on consistent attendance, it takes 20 scheduled weeks to complete the 600 hour Advanced Esthetics program.

  • Throughout the year we offer a number of different schedules to let students choose the schedule that works for them.

  • The cost for students at 蓝莓视频 Des Moines Esthetics Program is estimated at $15,203, which includes tuition, student kit charges, registration fee, Iowa sales tax and other expenses as well. Federal Financial Aid is available for students who qualify.

  • To qualify for an Esthetics License in Iowa, you must attend a licensed school and complete the state of Iowa's minimum required training hours and then take and pass the state's Esthetic board exam.

  • Esthiology is is the study of skin care and related skin beautification, esthetics is the practice of it. This includes facials, body treatments, waxing, or even makeup application.

  • An Esthetician provides services focused on skin care including, but not limited to, skin treatments, facials, makeup application and hair removal.

  • Both occupations are licensed skin care specialists. Generally, Estheticians focus on cosmetic treatments, and Aestheticians’ roles are more medical.
